Mohonk Mountain House

When we met with Candy Martin, Gift Shop Manager at the resort, she gave us a history lesson on the property and told us about the special things about the property and Mohonk Mountain, The fact that their boats in the lake are custom made wooden row boats in green and gold, that wild mountain laurel is a spring highlight on the trails, that the wooden gazebos are iconic to them called “Summer Huts”. We learned about the famed Skytop Tower, an internationally-renowned landmark that is a premiere destination on the trails surrounding the grounds.

We approached the project by looking at their brand icons and how to best represent the heritage of their 150-year legacy. We tapped one of our favorite artists and creators whose work we admire, Anastasia from CatMadePattern (CatMadePattern.blogspot.com) to help us create our patterns and hand-drawn icons that would be the perfect nod to their history. Anastasia believes in hand-crafted products and hand draws all her illustrations and then digitizes them in order to create an absolutely unique design.

Each drawing is handcrafted along with some of Anastasia’s hiking and camping icons she draws. The journal is a custom-made style and every bag is cut, sewn and printed to order, both Made in the USA. When we presented a dozen styles or so to Candy, she loved the designs and bought six of them right there on the spot and asked us if we could make temporary tattoos in these designs too. Of course, we tapped our friends at Tattly Tattoos® in Brooklyn who helped us bring her custom dream to life. We could not be more proud to work with such an iconic resort and their top team.
